Health Tip: Logging What You Eat

If you want to watch your weight, make sure you’ve got an accurate assessment of what you’re putting into your mouth each day.

The National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Disorders suggests:

  • Write down what you eat, including portion sizes, when you ate, where and why you ate.
  • Use a cell phone, notebook or computer to keep your food diary.
  • Use the diary to help you learn when you eat too much.
  • Do something else when you feel like eating for reasons other than hunger.
