Secondhand smoke can be a major health threat to people who are frequently exposed.
The University of Michigan Health System says potential effects include:
- Increased risk of ear infections and hearing problems.
- Greater risk of upper respiratory infection.
- Increased risk of bronchitis or pneumonia.
- Decreased lung function.
- Increased risk of asthma.
- Increased risk of cataracts, lung cancer and heart disease.
