Yoga is great exercise and good for stress relief. But researchers wanted to know if it could take the flame out of hot flashes and night sweats associated with menopause.2-hundred-49 women were recruited and broken up into three groups: a yoga group, an aerobic exercise group, and one with usual activity only.Half were also asked to take an Omega-3 supplement. The others were given a placebo. The good news… the yoga helped a bit reducing insomnia symptoms. But it did nothing for hot flashes or night sweats. The Omega-3s didn’t help in any area. The researchers say future trials should investigate how much yoga is needed to get a better night’s sleep.I’m Dr. Cindy Haines of HealthDay TV with news from today that can lead to healthy tomorrows.
